...to Fallen Woman, the fanlisting for Verdi's stunning opera La Traviata. This is the most touching opera that I've seen to date, with by far the most memorable music and arias. My first taste was an impressive Ellen Kent production. A series of Internet searches led me to several other performances, including the modernised version with Anna Netrebko and Rolando Villazon at the Salzbourg festival in 2005 and the film version with Teresa Stratas and Placido Domingo. I now own both of those performances on DVD; they are the first full opera DVDs that I bought, and both of the same opera!
